Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to start seeing everything pumpkin inspired!! Fall is my favorite time of year and I can’t wait to whip out the blanket scarves and boots, but first, I need to decorate my home. So join me and a few of my friends for some fall harvest table inspiration on how to style your table, place settings, and centerpieces. Grab a cup of coffee (with some pumpkin creamer) and look no further, for some inspiration.
I really wanted something organic and nature inspired, so what better than a basket full of pumpkins in the center of the table?! I added some faux garland from Michael’s to add to the organic flow and, I believe, I was able to achieve the look I was going for…or so I hope! When decorating the center of your table, remember to have a centerpiece that isn’t so tall that it is difficult for your family/guests to make eye contact with one another, during the meal. Let’s face it…that is the reason for the season, is to enjoy one another’s company. Nothing like dodging a huge arrangement in the center of the table so that you can walk down memory lane with your grandmother, or like me, scold my child for putting something in their nose! So keep them below eye level or you could miss some great moments!
The round hyacinth chargers are another organic option I chose to really play up the naturalness of my fall inspired table. And what says rustic more than plaid?! These plaid napkins are just icing on the orange cake!
I really think there should be music playing when I talk about these plates…because they are everything right in the world!! Each set has a different pumpkin on it and I love the touch of whimsy it adds to the table. One suggestion I would give anyone starting out in furnishing their home/apartment, is to buy a good quality set of white dishes. White dishes are timeless and classic pieces that will never go out of style!
During the holidays I like to have a pretty table, but my silverware and drinks are a la carte on my coffee bar. It seems to work for our family…and I am not one who is into fixing something that isn’t broke!
I love the holidays and wish that I could slow time down during them, because they go by soooo fast!! I tend to decorate early, to try and squeeze as much as I can out of each season. Do you decorate early? Or are you one to throw it up the week before? Before kiddos, I was totally throwing my decor up the week before…but since they have entered the picture, life is a little more chaotic and requires more planning. Le sigh. #momlife
